UPDATES

  • Teacher Appreciation (how is it going? Does Katie C need any help?) Katie is at $473 atm, no more help is need at this time  
  • Plant Sale results? Marsha?  Sarah D? Profits are around $300-$400, Delivery no times yet, once Marsha knows she will have Cheryl add it to the Dailies 
  • Got Sneakers – Donita. How were donations? Try again next year? 152 pairs of shoes, Amount unknown, check should come in June, Borges class is the winner- Donita is checking with Borges to see what day works best for her, perhaps NHS could have this fundraiser next year, we will see when the check arrives to see if it was worth doing again. 

 

TEACHER REQUESTS

  • HS Knowledge bowl team is requesting 2 cases of Izze drinks.  They are hosting a trivia night/fundraiser for equipment and funding to travel to future events.  (currently on sale at Costco 12.49/case)  They would like to have help ordering pizza through CAP.  They will cover the costs for their trivia night.  Crystal or Sarah check with Eric Harpe?

*Izze sale at costco is over, Amazon has cases for $17, APPROVED after vote yes, Crystal will contact Eric Harpe for pizza order and Izze order 

  • HS National Honor Society is requesting a general fund donation to help them with a variety of goals and activities.

*no flat amount, prefer to see where the money is going, individual requests was preferred going forward

  • HS teachers- Request for $320 to fund their end of year BBQ where they grill and make food for all high-school students.  Last year, due to inflation, we gave them $350 (they didn’t use it all).

  • Revisit request by Candace Allen for fidget pedals? Voted- Yes approved

  • 8th Grade party- Katie Plummer is sending out info/permission slips.  Coordinating all the fun and sent out a sign up genius to families this week.
  • 8th grade ceremony- work in progress.  Sending out a message to get Kristina Tavares support in organizing.  (Hollie will print certificates)

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED (Must be cleared by BGPS to volunteers)

  • Library? * volunteers are good through end of year, no help needed, hopefully do a sign up for the library at the ice cream social in August and/or add to dailies 
  • What roles would you like to play next year?  Priority would go to someone who has already coordinated an event.  Please be willing to cross-train someone if more than 1 person is interested so we can transition to new event coordinators in the future if original coordinators need or want to move on.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS

  • Spring Plant Sale – Pickup 16th from CAM *times not available yet for pick up 
  • Papa Murphy’s coupon cards- trying to figure out a time.  Seniors can sell but it would be ideal to have an adult handling money and supervising.  1 or 2 days at the end of a school day from 1:30-2:10?  *Marsha will help with selling cards

Principal’s Report

  • CAM Building Update *Mr Clapp is retiring, hired Andrea Smith as a replacement, Cheryl Spencer is also retiring, Lainie Stacy is taking her place! 

 

Proposal: Move the final CAP meeting from 6/4 (Tuesday) to 6/6 (Thursday)?  Many people gone to Zoo field trip, last pizza tuesday, and spotlight on seniors event taking place 6/4.

Monday the 3rd seemed to work best for everyone

CAP Volunteer Positions

Please write your name(s) next to each position you’re interested in.  If there are multiple people, you can be co-leaders or we can put it to a vote.  Hollie will build a google form for official voting.  Goal: have voting completed by 5/24.  We can have some positions open into next year.  It would be ideal to have a full executive board.

    • Oversee the committee system of CAP; assist the president and chair meetings in the absence of the president.

    • Record and distribute minutes of all general membership meeting; hold historical records and attendance records for CAP; manage communications such as email, Facebook, bulletin board, and CAP website.
  • Treasurer
    • Serve as custodian of CAP finances. Collect revenue, pay authorized expenses, report financial records and prepare a suggested budget for the following year to present for approval at June’s executive board meeting.

UPDATES

  • Library (volunteers? Other support needed?) -Melissa-Open for business. Sign-up genius set up for library volunteers
  • Scholastic results- Katie Plummer Made our goal. 1,128.46 Scholastic credit. Donate $300 to CAP Library
  • Family Game night- Melissa and Crystal S- Ice-cream donated by Alden’s. 
  • Senior hoodies & Tees on order with Uptown print.- Paid for and ordered. 
  • Kid heart health challenge-Chandra and Crystal S.$1,200.00 raised so far. 27 kids registered. Assembly March 28th from 11:30-1:30. Need 5 volunteers
  • Pizza Tuesday- deliveries & volunteers- Everything is going well.

 

TEACHER REQUESTS

  • High-quality playground equipment: 221.46 and includes Soccer balls & cones, volleyball gear, footballs, frisbees. Requested by Marianne and other recess teachers. (vote)-Approved by a vote.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Surprise Treat day- Jennifer (Helpers Sarah, Katie L, Crystal S and/or Crystal K?) (THIS Friday, 3/8 End of day at CAM. Meet around 1:45.  Gates open around this time)
  • Family Fun Day- Katie P (more advertising? 2 messages out so far)-Flyers will be handed out at surprise treat distribution. Not enough sign-ups so far. Need more advertising.
  • GotSneakers fundraiser- Donita (more advertising towards the middle/end of March with shoes collected just after spring break?)-Bags received for packing the sneakers. Gather at am drop-off and runs from April 8th- 22nd. Winning class gets an ice-cream party.
  • Teacher appreciation: May 6-May 10 – Katie Cowl leading- Different theme each day. Flyers sent out to tell abut it.
  • 8th Grade recognition committee- Katie & Kristina (Katie leading party 6/7; Kristina leading recognition 6/11)- Mr. Cowl okay with keeping these dates? Last year it gave us the best number of participants.-Facilities request is submitted. Doing a Luau with fancy drinks and field day games.

  • Spring Plant Sale soon- Sarah Dostal and Marsha Hubbard working on getting a vendor.  Many have quit fundraisers.  Sarah found a company out of Woodland that may be interested in working with us.  Limited/no response from a Canadian company.

UPDATES

  • Library – New scanner was purchased. Laptop and internet were aquired. Volunteers are needed to help scan in all books.
  • Pizza Tuesday- Great turnout with lots of volunteers each time.
  • Grad night-Senior hoodies done by uptown print. All 42 senior names will be inside a 24 on back. Almost sold out of krispy kreme coupons.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Scholastic Book fair–Confirmed and a box of promotional stuff was sent. It runs February 12th-16th from 1-3pm. 1st year with bilingual. Also including Adult Fiction, Jewish and Christian books
  • Family Fun day- Bowling will be March 13th from 10:30-12. $6 a kid with $8 at the door
  • Used shoes fundraiser- Donita- Is happening. Will store shoes in the CAP room
  • 8th Grade recognition committee

  • Thanksgiving lunch and pie- Lots of donations, not many leftovers. Went well.
  • Surprise treat- December 8th- Hot Cocoa
  • Library (bookshelves- thank yous)Stuck on getting internet. Talking to Shelly next.
  • Spirit Wear-Need more youth large and adult small. A few sizing issues.
  • Grad night- fundraisers & Bullwinkle’s-Beautiful and large poinsettias. Two other schools are signed up. 50 people=$3,000.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Scholastic Book fair- February 12th-16th held in the new library.
  • Family Fun day-March 13th
  • 8th Grade recognition committee- Take notes from past committees and bring backup AA batteries.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

  • Library (bookshelves- sell?)-Can’t set up library until computer system is figured out. Hope to open by winter break. Hoping to get  staked sign for open/close outside library.
  • Grad night-Poinsettia pickup by Hollie. Delivery too expensive. Continuing fundraising, no location yet, still need a partner school

  • Surprise treat – went well, ran out of otter pops, but possibly had too many at back gate where not as many kids exited.
  • End of year CAP email – Hollie will send out an email to the parents from CAP thanking for participation this year

 

TEACHER/STUDENT REQUESTS

  • Pizza class prize (ASB Paid, CAP coordinate) ASB would like pizza for a prize for a class. ASB will pay for the pizza, but CAP will facilitate ordering for them.
  • Middle School Otter Pops – would like otter pops for their field day, agreed to provide these

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

  • BBQ & Field Day – PBIS planning field day on 6/02 which will be the parent invited BBQ as well. Signup Genius links have been emailed. Still need some volunteers.
  • Grad night- Candace Allen Everything going well for Grad Night.  One more fundraiser left, Burgerville. Meeting for parents of Juniors will be 6/1 at 6pm
  • 8th Grade Grad – coordinator Crystal Katzer (Date change 6/15) 
  • Library – will continue packing on 6/9 at 1pm.  Need cart to help transport boxes to gym

  • CAM Building Update – 2nd building will be brought in after all the district graduations are finished. Should have occupancy on 2nd building August 15th.
